CoolSculpting® is a non-invasive fat reduction technology that utilizes cold to destroy localized pockets of fat. It is not a weight loss solution. The best candidate for coolsculpting is a person who is in relatively good shape but has localized areas of fat that they can't get rid of with diet or exercise.
The CoolSculpting® procedure is FDA-cleared for the treatment of visible fat bulges in the submental (under the chin) and submandibular (under the jawline) areas, thigh, abdomen, and flank, along with bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks (also knowns as banana roll) and upper arm. It is also FDA-cleared to affect the appearance of lax tissue with submental area treatments.
Most people need between 1 and 3 treatments, although visible fat reduction occurs within 1-3 months of the first treatment. Each treatment reduces fat in an area by 20-25% per treatment. The fat loss is permanent, with the exception of diet based weight fluctuation.
